What to do with all those use vanilla pods from making French Toast, Creme Brulee or Pecan Pie? Vanilla Pods still have a lot of flavor in them and if you haven't used the pod in your dish, the pod deserves a second life.
Ingredients 1) Take Vanilla Bean Pod 2) Place into container full of sugar That's it. There are no quantities defined for this recipe -- use whatever you have. In a few days the sugar will begin to pickup the aroma of the vanilla. In a few weeks it'll be ready for use. I've had vanilla sugar steeping for a few months and use it in nearly everything that calls for table sugar. |
